This forum was set up in May 2006 following the airing of the BBC2 series 'It's Not Easy Being Green' which followed our family's endeavours to lead a more eco-friendly life on a small holding in Cornwall.
The aim of the forum is to encourage an open exchange of information about all aspects of sustainable living.
We hope you will contribute your own ideas and start up new discussions regardless of whether you have been living off-grid for the last 30 years, have just switched for the first time to low energy light bulbs, or have some good tips for would-be gardeners. There's a wealth of information out there and we'd love you to share what you know with our members and other people who read the forum.
Anyone can change their lifestyle to reduce the impact they have on this planet, and you certainly don't need to own land or be in receipt of a high income to do so. In fact, some of the 'greenest' people I know are on low incomes. Installing wind turbines and solar systems is a fantastic thing to do if you are able, but it is a waste of time if you don't also reduce the impact you make in your everyday life.
The little choices you make on a daily basis really can make a difference, and this forum is packed with ideas to help you make those changes!
We have a comprehensive set of 'forum rules and etiquette' in The Office area, but the most important thing we ask is that you be tolerant of other member's views and degree of 'greeness'....nothing is more likely to put someone off joining in discussions than a fear of being judged. We also ask that you don't use this forum for advertising, recruitment or to sell things.
I hope you enjoy the forum and look forward to hearing your views,.
If you are inspired by what you read on here, PLEASE tell someone else about us! They don't need to become a member to benefit from the information contained within....they just need to know how to find us!
