how do i upload an avatar? i read the faq and instructions but it wants the pic from the web not my pictures stored in my computer? right? but the urls are for the page the pic is on not solely the pic itself. i got one to upload but it was huuuge! and i can't resize an image on a website can i?
am i being really dense?

If you go to somewhere like tinypic.com you can upload a picture and then it gives you the URL for the picture so that you can make it your avatar

you'll need to use some sort of photo editing package to reduce the size before uploading it.

I use Imageshack to resize and host the picture. Photobucket is another option.
Have a play, don't hesitate to ask if you still have problems, and if all else fails, PM the url to me and I should be able to put it on for you.
