I've not seen any policy on image sizes on this forum, but it could be a good idea to have one. If a large image is posted in a thread it makes the whole thread that wide and you end up needing to scroll left and right to read it which is a bit annoying. I've not got a particularly small monitor either (either 1024 or 1280 pixels width depending on which monitor I'm using). I'd have thought 800 pixels width would be sufficient most of the time, and it's fairly easy to link to a larger image if you need to.

Avatars more than about 150 pixels wide make the "Author" column wider and take up more screen space too. Though that is less of a problem for me as I can use Adblock to block those Avatars and get my screen space back.

Hi Zabdiel

The limit for avatars is 147px, as given here: https://newhousefarm.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?t=222 This is the widest we can go without reducing the posting area.

There's no set guidelines for images within the post - we leave that to the poster's discretion. I'm not aware of complaints about over-large images but if there were enough I guess we'd consider a limit.
