I sharpen my Mach -4 blade razor a couple of times a week saves spending a fortune on replacement blades

You take the razor and stroke it down the leg of a pair of jeans, hold the leg tight 20 times down -20 times up, this will keep it sharp. normally mine start going blunt after a week or two but this really does work.Try it and see.

Build a perfect pyramid out of cardboard and put the razor blade inside. They did it on Tomorrow's World in the 70's and it sharpened it. It really really did.

On April 1st by any chance ? I suggest you try it anyway. Do a proper controlled trial, and if it works claim $1m from James Randi.

I can see the trick with the jeans will help by fetching off any burr, but you may end up with razors that last longer at the expense of jeans that wear out quicker

My nanna used one before shaving men's legs (she was a theatre nurse) and particularly loved doing it in front of them when they were still conscious. Not sure what that says about my nanna but it's probably quite right.

Mythbusters tried something similar, they used "the power of the pyramid" to try to keep fruit fresh, razors sharp and, erm, I forget the other item, but, suffice to say, the power of the pyramid only has the power to empty your wallet (if you buy the kits that is!!!)...

As for the razors, my Gillette "fusion" (not the battery powered vibrator version!!!) hasn't had a new head for a loooooooong time, and it still works fine, 4 blades seems to last much longer, plus it has a trimming blade thingy on the top (though it is lethal as I have cut my nose with it now and then!!!), that hardly gets used so there is still a sharp blade on it...

Will try the jeans thing though...
