THE LAST WHITE DRAGONS

On snowy heights and icy peaks
Their spirits low, their bodies weak
An alien sun now burns their cheeks
They are the last white dragons

He keeps an ever watchful eye
She feels his fear. He hears her cry
The end is near, they soon will die
They are the last white dragons

A thousand years and more, they reigned
Their kills were quick, no victim’s pain
The kings and queens of frozen plains
They are the last white dragons

Then darkened skies grew clear and light
A warming air began their plight
The colony moved north in flight
They are the last white dragons

Through foreign lands, with awesome features
Fiery rocks and fearsome creatures
No time to stop and help the weakest
They are the last white dragons

To wait for death they lay together
Bound by love’s immortal tether
Their ghosts will haunt these hills forever
Those were the last white dragons
