It's Not Easy Being Green: Series Two

The vast majority of viewers who watched the first series of 'It's Not Easy Being Green' enjoyed watching our endeavours at Newhouse Farm. However, we received many emails from people containing comments along the lines of 'it's easy if you live on a smallholding but I've only got a small back yard' or 'great ideas - but how do they apply to me?' So, for the second series we decided to hit the road and show that almost everything we did at Newhouse Farm could be adapted to work on a different scale and in different circumstances (although its fair to say that not everyone has the space for a waterwheel!)

We were involved in lots of projects where we helped people all over the UK to green-up their homes and gardens. If you watched the series you may remember some of the following:

A family in a terraced housed in Essex setting up a wormery and using rainwater to increase productivity in their garden, as well as getting started on an allotment.
A couple in East London making hot water using energy from the sun.
A lady in the midlands establishing a wildlife/child friendly pond in her garden and using environmentally friendly paints in her home.
A family building a timber-framed mansion complete with wind turbine, rainwater harvesting and reed bed to treat their sewage.
A couple on a smallholding in Scotland collecting and automating a watering system for their livestock and poly tunnels.
Insulating and minimising electricity usage in a suburban home in Bournemouth.
Powering a remote coastguard station using solar and wind power.
